Egg Yolk: 1 egg

Ice-water: ½ teaspoon (approx)

Blueberries: ¾ cup Baking Dish: 9*9 inch (ungreased)

Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C (375 degrees F) and place the butter cubes in the refrigerator for at least fifteen minutes. Take a large bowl and mix the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and five-spice or cinnamon powder together. Now, cut the frozen butter into small cubes and add them to the mixture. Using a masher, mash the butter well and add the egg yolk. Keep combining the mixture well and add the ice-water.

Once you notice all the ingredients combined together, your mixture is done. The mixture should have a crumb-like texture and yet it should come together like dough when pinched between your fingers. Now, Pour the 3/4th portion of this mixture into the baking dish and press it firmly using the back of a spoon or your fingers. Next, add the blueberries on top of this mixture evenly and sprinkle the remaining crumb on top of this. Bake this in the preheated oven for at least 30 minutes until the top coat is golden and sides are brown. Let it cool completely before you cut it into nine equal cubes and serve.
